On December 5, the memory of the late DJ Tim Bergling, known as Avicii, is commemorated in Stockholm. Bergling was 28 years old when he committed suicide last year.
Adam Lambert, Rita Ora, Aloe Black, and 16 other well-known performers all came together for the first time to perform Avicii's best hits. The tribute concert was attended by a large orchestra of 30 people, which was Tim's dream.
The concert was organized by a charity created by Avicii's parents in memory of their son. The activities of this fund are aimed at preventing mental illness and suicide. “Every year, 1,500 people die from suicide in Sweden, and around one million worldwide. The problem is global and remains the second most prevalent cause of death for young people between the ages of 15 and 29. With the help of the concert, we want to put this topic on the agenda and pay general attention to the problem of mental illness, ”explains Tim's father.
First of all, the foundation appeals to Avicii fans who have any mental health issues, calling for their anxiety and not being afraid to ask for help.
All proceeds from the tickets will go to charities involved in mental health support and suicide prevention.
